What are friends for? This is a question that's even more significant during times of famished desperation. Friends are people you depend on when you have no one else. Friends are the people who understand you more than any of your family. Friends are the people you can take advantage of in times of need, whether they know it or not. If your friends are willing to provide you with help, that's great! If they are tight-fisted, self-interested pricks, you may have to use another approach. It's a little technique I'll call "borrowing foodstuffs". Although this is a last ditch effort as far as most friends are concerned, it is a valuable one nonetheless. |

It's easy enough to accomplish. There are several excuses available to get the unwitting sap out of the immediate vicinity of the kitchen such as, "I think I hear your dog scratching at the door", " Someone's knocking at your door", or the ever popular " Do you smell smoke?" When the unsuspecting participant checks on any one of these, it's the perfect opportunity for you to "borrow foodstuffs" from your more fortunate friends. If you have a guilty conscience, you can always replace what you've taken when your in a more finacially secure position. |
